It took far too long but the latest release of Chronicle is available
at the App Store. Chronicle is a journal and notebook.
The screenshots feature photos, but if you don't like including photos in your entries, you obviously don't have to. If you do like them, however, you can have fun positioning them on an entry, resizing, and rotating them.
